大橋鉄朗 / 葛西由香（霧の向こうから石が）

プロフィール

1994年北海道札幌市生まれ。

インターネット上の画像を原寸大のペーパークラフトとして再現する立体作品や、Vサインをしている女性を描くイラストレーションなどを制作している。自身の軽薄さや無知さを、視覚的なイリュージョンとシニカルな態度という二面性によって自虐的に表現している。

主な展覧会に、2022年「霧の向こうから石が」ギャラリー無量（富山）、2022年「(((((,」駒込倉庫（東京）、「モデルルーム」ARTBOX（札幌）、など。

Born in 1994 in Sapporo, Hokkaido. 

Ohashi creates work such as three-dimensional paper crafts that transform images from the internet into life size sculptures, and illustrations featuring women holding up peace signs. By pairing visual illusions with cynicism, he expresses his own frivolity and ignorance in a self-deprecating manner.

Exhibitions include A Stone from Beyond the Fog at Gallery Muryow (Toyama) in 2022, ((((( at Komagome SOKO (Tokyo) and Model Room at ARTBOX (Sapporo) in 2022.

ステートメント

私は軽薄な考えで作品を制作しています。言い訳をすれば、私の無知さや自己嫌悪が制作の動機となっており、その無知さを作品を通してシミュレーションしています。

SNSのタイムラインやインターネット上には欲しい情報が溢れている一方で、自分が知らないことにはなかなか触れることができない環境でもあります。また、現在の社会でマジョリティである男性として生きてきた中で、無自覚でいられたようなジェンダーの問題が数多く存在していることなど、私の無知さはまったくもって底知れません。そして、この無知さや問題は、同じ時代で生きる人々とも共有できるはずです。

私の無知さをそのまま軽薄に作品化することで、私の無知に対する批判も含めて、誰かと問題を共有するツールとなればと思っています。

I make work from frivolous ideas. In my defense, my own ignorance and self-loathing drive me to create, and so I simulate this ignorance through my work. 

While the internet and social media are overflowing with all the information I could ever want, it is also quite difficult to connect with what I don’t know. In addition, as a man in a male dominated society, there are numerous gender related issues I’ve remained ignorant to. I believe this unfathomable ignorance and various issues can be shared with others today. 

By light-heartedly making art based directly on my ignorance, I hope that the self-critical work becomes a tool for sharing issues with people.
